The Northside Seventh-day Adventist Church is part of a Christ - centered, worldwide, religious community dedicated to serving God, sharing the Gospel and helping others.  We are people who take great joy in living according to Christ's example of service and humility.  The term "Seventh-day" comes from the observation of the Sabbath, the Lord's day, on Saturday, the seventh day of the week.  "Adventist" means the second coming (advent) of Christ.

Jesus Christ, as revealed in the Bible, is at the very center of what we believe.  We follow Biblical teaching regarding the Sabbath.  We observe this holy day on Saturday, the seventh day of the week.  Following the guidelines in scripture, the Sabbath is observed from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday.  It is a day of rest and no unnecessary work is done.  This sacred day is devoted to Bible study, church services, family activities and Christian witnessing.

Northside also upholds the fundamental belief in the Trinity, that God is revealed as one in three: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  They are equal, divine and eternal.  We  also believe in the divine creation of the earth in six days, with God resting and blessing the seventh day as the Sabbath.

Another key fundamental belief of Seventh-day Adventists, both at Northside and worldwide, is that of our health message, demonstrating reason and restraint in daily life.  This means moderation in all activities, with no use of tobacco, alcohol and illicit drugs.  We choose to follow dietary restrictions that conform to Biblical guidelines and sound medical advice.  Many Seventh-day Adventists are vegetarians.  According to medical studies, Adventists are among the healthiest people in North America.
